Bio

Natalie Lavender joined the Pickens County Board of Education in 1998 when she became the Career Technical Education Health Science division faculty instructor.  She holds three degrees in nursing and brings her expertise into the classroom in preparing future health professionals.  During her time with the PCBOE, she has assisted countless students in preparing for post-secondary education primarily in the areas of allied health care.  Mrs. Lavender serves as the Career Technical Student Organization (HOSA) advisor.  Under her leadership our system has celebrated recognition of student success at the state and national level.  In 1998 Mrs. Lavender was named the national New Teacher of the Year by the American Vocational Association.  In 2015 she was named the Alabama State Teacher of the Year by the Alabama Association for Career and Technical Education and was recognized as one of four Region II ACTE finalist for the national teaching award.  

Mrs. Lavender lives in Aliceville with her husband Lamont of 33 years and enjoys spending time with her married children Webb & Brenna Lavender and Trey & Sara Burkhalter.
