Greetings!

My name is Haley McGee and I have the privilege of teaching the first ever Teacher Cadet program here at the Pickens County College and Career Center.

As a Tuscaloosa native, I have taught both middle and high school; Family and Consumer Sciences at Brookwood Middle School, as well as the program coordinator for Work-Based Learning at Tuscaloosa County High School. My Pickens County husband brought our family to the rural life many years ago, and after teaching thirteen years with Tuscaloosa County School System, this great new program was a wonderful opportunity to allow me to be finally, HOME!

Teaching is a passion of mine. I enjoy starting and ending my week with faces in my classroom traveling through all walks of life. Seeing a student wanting to learn and eager to grow allows an unlimited and complete learning environment. The greatest aspect of a high school student is sharing their journey as they grow and work towards being college and career ready, as well as, adulthood. Students teach me new things everyday with their insights and opinions! How blessed to be a small part in their learning lives! I believe nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm and one must strive to LOVE and have a PASSION before anything GREAT can be accomplished!

God has been abundantly wonderful to me. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband, an ‘all-boy’ precious third grader and an adorable, new addition, 15-month-old baby girl! Life in Pickens County is a simplicity that I never knew existed and I am grateful to live here. I am SO very thankful for an amazing family, fantastic friends and the gracious journey God has allowed me to travel.
